Cyprinella lutrensis – Red Shiner
Cyprinella lutrensis or Red Shiner is a peaceful schooling fish that is suitable for the cold water aquarium. Use lots of plants along the sides and back of the aquarium. Use plants that grow in cooler water. Leave lots of swimming space in the middle of the aquarium. Change the water on a very regular basis to keep the fish healthy. Keep them a few degrees cooler in winter to make them more resilient to disease.

Cyprinella lutrensis – Red Shiner are omnivorous. Feed them with a wide variety of foods and don’t forget the vegetables. They will also eat frozen and dried foods.
