Boulenger has already described the Grammatotria lemairii in 1899. The name Grammatotria is derived from ancient Greek and consist out of 2 parts. Gramma means mark or signal and tria means tree.
Grammatotria lemairii can be found over the entire Lake Tanganyika. They live on the sand substrates in depths varying from 5 to 75 meters.
The diet of the Grammatotria Lemarii consists predominately out of vertebrates and snails. These animals are caught in the sand. In a tank you can feed them shrimp, krill, Mysis, etc. …
