Labeo barbatus

Labeo barbatus can reach a total length of more than 60 centimetres. Too large for our living room aquariums and can therefore only be kept in large show aquariums. They are very aggressive and combative towards conspecifics. They are quite peaceful with other fish species. The aquarium should be decorated with rocks and driftwood and a dense border and background vegetation. It is best to use fine sand as a substrate.

Diet

Labeo barbatus is omnivorous, provide them with a varied diet. Don’t forget to feed them herbivorous foods like spirulina.

Breeding Labeo barbatus

As far as we could find, Labeo barbatus has not been bred in captivity yet.
