Lamprichthys tanganicanus – Tanganyika Killifish

Lamprichthys tanganicanus or Tanganyika Killifish is the largest African Killifish, they should be kept in a school. They need a large aquarium that should be set up with  lot of rocks and stones that form caves and crevices.  A weekly large changing of the water is necessary. They are very shy, especially in the beginning.

Synonyms: Haplochilus tanganicanus, Mohanga tanganicana, Lamprichthys curtianalis.

Diet

You should give them live food such as Artemia and mosquito larvae. After habituation they accept dry food as well.

Breeding Lamprichthys tanganicanus

About breeding in the aquarium not much is known.  They are not very productive.
