Leporinus affinis is a peaceful fish to other species but to species of their own kind he is rapacious now and then. You should set up the aquarium with driftwood, roots and stones. Only hard plants can be used because he loves vegetable food and soft plants are eaten. You should cover the aquarium very well because they are good jumpers.
This species was first described in 1864 by Günther.
South America; Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela.
They are omnivorous but they prefer vegetable food such as algae and lettuce. Frozen and dry food are accepted as well.
